Auditions for the Young People's Chorus of Erie Training Choir Extended

January 5, 2012 –The Young People’s Chorus of Erie will audition potential new members for its Cantare training ensemble during the first weeks of January.

Auditions for boys and girls ages 7 to 12 will be held at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 9, and Tuesday, Jan. 10, and at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7. The auditions will last two and one-half hours, during which time children will be asked to sing both individually and in a group, and parents will meet with YPC Erie staff.

Any child who can match pitch and has a genuine interest in singing is encouraged to audition; singers need only to prepare to sing any familiar song, such as “Happy Birthday to You,” without accompaniment.
