At Home - Berry Picking

My daughter is a lot like me at her age - wondering why on Earth she has a parent who insists on driving to North East (heaven forbid) to pick berries. A 5-minute trip to Wegmans would accomplish the same, in her mind.But not in mine. As the school year dawns, my daughter's birthday approaches. She's an end of August child, making her the youngest in her class. At Home - Back-to-School Breakfast

I opened the refrigerator and stared. I opened the cupboards and stared. I write about food for a living. What in heaven's name was I staring at?

Breakfast. Or rather the lack of it.

At Home - Back to School

Back-to-school has been much anticipated in our home. Starting middle school is a big deal, at least for girls. The whole social dynamic changes - they seem to change over the summer from little girls to preteens (complete with the complexes). Picking out the right thing to wear the first day consumed no fewer than 2 hours. And involved the right to change the whole thing the next morning.

I visited river of life a few years ago and had a weird appointment. I was seen, talked to, xrays taken but no treatment. Then I was told I had to bring my husband back so he can discuss my treatment with both of us. I refused stating I was 30+ years old and did not need my spouses permission or to involve him but they were adamant that my spouse had to come....it was bizzaro. Needless to say I didnt' return. At the checkout they didn't charge me and said we would discuss at next appt. My doctors office called and said they needed his ID info so I called the front desk gal who didn't know what I was talking about so she handed the phone to the Dr. who proceeded to give me a number.....I relayed the info to my doc office who called me back and said who gave you this number? I said the Doc she said it was a fake number.....again....bizarro.....
