Some things you have to see to believe

OK....If I hadn't been there myself today I would never have believed it! I had to pick my son up at the Ambassador today at 3:30. We live by 38th & Peach area so I left my house at 3:15 normally this would give my plenty of time even if there was a little Saturday traffic. He had to go babysit for a friend at 4:00 so I grabbed a coupon for chik-fil-a to get him some dinner and I was off. Just a few blocks up Peach Street (just passed Gore) the traffic was stopped. OK, I thought aww did some one have an accident? The roads don't look too slippery but the truck in front of me could be sliding they look like they have cheap tires. Hmm. I wait patiently hoping not to get stuck in a slippery situation in my rental car (long story) that I'm not used to.....Oh, here we go traffic is moving a little. Hmm. Traffic is still not really moving. Is that an accident? No, I guess not just some fool who got caught in the middle as the light turned red. OK, what's going on here? Look at the time. I need to pick up my son at 3:30....tick, tick, tick. At least Star is playing good songs for the moment. Ok, now it's 3:25 and I haven't moved one block! What the heck? OK, here is where the cartoon bell in my head rings above me in a bubble (UGH) (Did you hear the scream?) It's Valentines Day, Saturday and Peach Jam! If I was a swearing person a pile of swear words would have crossed my mind about now. I call home hoping my husband would rescue me and zip up the through way to upper Peach to pick up the boy but I guess that was too much to ask when he was busy at home playing video games :( After numerous calls home, to the babysitting family, my son, etc. I arrived up at the Ambassador about an HOUR and a half later. I did see an ambulance and fire truck move down Peach Street but I couldn't help but wonder if there was a real emergency and an ambulance had to get UP Peach Street I think all heck would have broken loose. Like I said If I had not been there myself and stuck in that chaos I would not have believed it! Put this in memory bank no Peach Street on Valentines Day!!!!!

How stressed you must have been. I remember driving home from North East to meet the school bus and sweating the entire time that, please, be no train on Millfair.

It wasn't due to Valentine's Day. There were 2 accidents at that time. There was also a 3rd right after the first two. I was at the mall and it took us an hour to get back home to Belle Valley.

We went to peach street for "early" valentines day dinner at Texas Roadhouse. HA It was unbelievable. Even on black friday I have never seen it as bad as it was on Saturday. There were no accindents on upper peach. Traffic was moving northbound fine, southbound stopped. We did not eat there, decieded to get off peach street and head to the casino. It took us 1/2 hour to get out of the home depot/ circuit city parking lot. And yes it is in my memory bank for the future!!!!!
